Ayurvedic Herbs

Ayurveda is one of the most ancient systems of medicine known today. The origins of this science of life (Ayu – life, Veda – knowledge), though difficult to pinpoint, have been placed by scholars of ancient Indian Ayurvedic literature at somewhere around 6000 BC.

Ayurveda is a holistic science of balance and health. Disease is seen as an imbalance and its treatment involves diverse strategies to restore optimal function. Using dietary alterations, yoga, exercise, herbal medicine, and elaborate surgical techniques, the Ayurvedic physician treats the whole person.

RUved®, Inc. was founded in 1988 by the Sodhi brothers, who came to the United States to share their knowledge of Ayurveda and demonstrate the incredible healing power of traditional and natural medicine.

When they first started their Ayurvedic and Naturopathic practices, they were shocked at how difficult it was to find quality herbal products. They looked everywhere; even trying herbal products from the most reputable sources they could locate in their native India, but they soon discovered that even those herbal products were too contaminated to satisfy FDA requirements. Knowing how critical having quality herbal products was to the health of their patients, the Sodhi brothers decided that the only way to ensure that they were getting the pure ingredients that they needed was to grow their own herbs.

For over twenty years, RUved® has offered the highest quality Ayurvedic herbal products, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes available to consumers. With the foundation of our practice firmly rooted in our commitment to providing the best that Mother Nature has to offer, combined with the latest in scientific research, we are proud to offer RUved® to the consumer. We can confidently say that every product and their ingredients are of superior quality from start to finish.

RUved®’s herbs are grown and harvested on our own farms in the pristine and pure environment of the Himachal Pradesh region of India, which is the natural habitat of most Ayurvedic herbs. Close attention is paid to the health and development of each plant in every aspect, including the overall condition of the plant, the size of the root, and the timing of harvest to ensure optimal potency and quality. This produces herbs that are ideally suited for use as supplements to enhance good health in accordance with the 5,000-year-old Ayurvedic tradition and ensures the highest quality herbs exclusively for RUved®.

Providing uncontaminated, unadulterated herbal products is the founding principle of our company. We have full knowledge of and confidence in the contents of our herbal supplements. That is just one of the many reasons that RUved® is a name that represents quality and purity; for the sake of our customers and our own families.

Herbal Supplements for Heart Health

Carditone

One of the most popular herbal supplements at Ayush Herbs is Carditone (sometimes mistakenly called cardiotone). Carditone may support cardiovascular and heart health in many ways. Made from a proprietary, doctor recommended and formulated blend, Carditone has been used effectively by millions of satisfied customers for over 25 years. Carditone is an easy, all-natural way to maintain a healthy blood pressure level already within the normal range and may help blood vessel damage. This formula combines Ayurvedic herbs with magnesium, an essential nutrient for heart health and also one of the most common nutrient deficiencies in Western diets. Carditone promotes cardiac health by supporting optimal fluid balance, healthy circulation, and maintaining homeostasis. In Ayurveda, antioxidant-rich arjuna has a long history of successful use in strengthening heart function. The herbs have adaptogenic properties which help support a healthy response to stress and maintain overall health and wellness. Carditone is one of the best herbal supplements for heart health and one of the best herbal products online.

Emblica officinalis (Amla or amalaki)

In Ayurveda, amla has traditionally been used as a rejuvenator (rasayana) and an adaptogen. This sour fruit is regarded as a natural antioxidant with a rich and high source of vitamin C, while also providing cooling, bowel supporting, heart protective, and immune supporting properties. Amla is said to help maintain vitality and youthfulness while supporting the proper function of the heart.

Terminalia Arjuna (Arjuna)

In Ayurveda, Terminalia arjuna is traditionally used to support heart health and has high levels of heart-healthy antioxidants. Arjuna strengthens and tones the circulatory system and promotes the proper function of the heart muscle, thus supporting the maintenance of healthy cholesterol levels and blood pressure levels already within a normal range.

Herbal Supplements for Stress and Cognitive Support

Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha)

Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha) has been used for over 4,000 years in India and has long been celebrated for its ability to encourage quality energy throughout the day and sound sleep at night. More commonly known as “Indian ginseng” due to its stimulating effects, it has been used to calm the mind, relieve weakness and nervous exhaustion, build energy, promote healthy sleep, and improve overall health and longevity. In particular, the root of Ashwagandha is regarded as a tonic and aphrodisiac. It is one of the most highly regarded and widely-used Ayurvedic herbs and is believed to promote energy, support the activity of the immune system, provide brain support, and support thyroid function.

Bacopa monnieri (Bacopa)

Bacopa monnieri has been used in Ayurvedic herbal medicine to support the nervous system and may help maintain neurotransmitter levels (especially the vital neurotransmitter serotonin) already within the normal range. It can also support learning, and modulate reactions to occasional stress. Ancient texts from the sixth century mention the use of Bacopa for nerve relaxation, memory support, brain health, and antioxidant protection.

Centella asiatica (Gotu kola)

Centella asiatica calms the nervous system and promotes healthy blood circulation, memory, cognitive support, and has general health effects as a rasayana in Ayurveda. Gotu kola is renowned for its ability to balance the nervous system and the mind. It is a cooling, relaxing tonic for pitta, and it helps to calm vata in the mind. In addition, gotu kola has adaptogenic properties and supports a healthy inflammatory response.

Mucuna pruriens (Mucuna, Macuna, Velvet bean)

Mucuna pruriens, is a vining tropical legume commonly known as velvet bean or cowitch. Macuna produces strikingly beautiful flowers and a bean that contains high levels of L-dopa, a precursor to the neurotransmitter dopamine. Mucuna has long been used in Ayurvedic herbal medicine to support mood, and the seeds and roots of Mucuna pruriens support the male and female reproductive system and kidney function.
